Construction of the ALEM Medical Equipment Plant Has Begun
The anchor product of the facility will be the ALEM device – an innovative solution designed by Kazakhstani engineers and doctors to enable the long-term preservation and transportation of donor organs. This groundbreaking invention addresses one of the key challenges in modern transplantation: the extremely limited window of viability for donor organs.
According to preliminary estimates, the plant's annual production capacity will range from 15 to 20 units of equipment. The project will also include the manufacturing of complementary medical products such as plastic containers for biomaterials, vacutainers, and drainage jars.
This initiative lays the foundation for creating an integrated transplantation network across Central Asia. It will also ensure that local medical institutions have access to modern equipment and consumables, reducing reliance on foreign imports.
Kazakhmys Corporation has become the strategic partner of the foundation, providing 100% funding for the construction. Total project cost: 4 billion KZT.
